Andy Coules

Andy Coules - Head Lecturer

Andy has been a sound engineer for over 20 years. Working at various venues around London (O2 Arena, Koko, Shepherd's Bush Empire, Roundhouse, Dublin Castle, Islington Academy, etc.) as well as touring the world with a diverse array of acts, including: Hudson Mohawke, Oi Va Voi, Rickie Lee Jones, The House Of Love, The Shout Out Louds, The Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra, Mount Kimbie, Arthur Beatrice, Jamie N Commons and CocknBullKid. He has also taught live sound in the Sahara Desert, been a guest lecturer at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and writes articles and reviews for Live Sound International and Audio Media International.

Ben Etchells

Ben Etchells - Course Director

Ben has been working in the music industry for 18 years, first as a songwriter and musician and then as a live and studio sound engineer. He has worked at various London venues and toured with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Libertines, and The Pretenders.

Emile Pesik

Emile Pesik – Tutor

Emile is a live sound engineer who has worked at many London venues (Dublin Castle, The Unicorn, The Water Rats, Hope & Anchor, etc.) as well as touring around the UK and Europe with Fjokra and Joseph Arthur.

Jon Nash

Jon Nash – Head Tutor Birmingham

Jon has been a live sound engineer for 15 years after a career as guitarist, back line tech & studio engineer. Going in-house after the birth of his daughter, he has mixed over a thousand touring bands including Edwin Collins, Julian Cope, Joanna Newsome, Kate Nash, Adele, Mumford & Sons, Bat for Lashes, Turin Brakes, Nigel kennedy & Laura Marling. He acts as Production manager for The Glee Club & is co-owner of Leftfoot Venues.

Steve McGuire

Steve McGuire – Tutor

Steve has been a tour manager and sound engineer for the past 20 years. He has worked with artists such as Badly Drawn Boy, Hard Fi, The Charlatans, The Futureheads, The Cribs, The Waterboys, Jurassic 5, Gang Of Four, Tiffany Page and The Australian Pink Floyd.

Reay Grant

Reay Grant - Tutor

Reay began mixing sound for live bands in 1983 when he was still at school, since then he has worked with the likes of: Stereophonics, The Fall, The Blockheads, The Crimea, and Snow Patrol. Reay also designs sound systems for Noise Control Audio.
